The city owes its fame to the salt which it exploited and of whom it traded until 1962. The Big Saltworks of Salt marshes is registered since June, 2009 on the world heritage of Unesco in extension of the Royal Saltworks of Bow and Senans (Doubs). Salt marshes it is the museum of the salt, the thermal baths and his casino.
